I’ve decided to start updating this blog more as my misadventures in cooking start up again.
Two posts to look forward to:
- Igor Bars – a hybrid cookie and Rice Krispie Treat monstrosity that will put you in a diabetic coma.
- Southwest Macaroni and Cheese Soup – For using up that last bit of Velveeta and some salsa for an added kick.
Keep an eye out for these!
I don’t have a card for this recipe, but this is one of my favorite cheap dishes for when I can’t afford anything outside of what’s already in my fridge and pantry.

The pickles sort of turned out successfully! I say “sort of” because they didn’t go bad, but I think my taste buds were not happy with the oversalting. I’m going to try again a few times and perfect the recipe. In the meantine, I’m working on a recipe for BBQ pulled pork sandwiches which should be amazing. I was able to salvage two or three not-too-salty pickle slices for the sandwiches I made this weekend, and it was a magical day. Look for that soon.

Starting off with a simple recipe card, and a fairly simple recipe. I made this chili for the chili cookoff at my university last year. It got 2nd in the vegetarian category. Out of 2.

Welcome to Exciting News from the Paper Shredder! I originally envisioned this site as a random blog full of random facts with zingy one-liners and weird trivia. Months later, I now realize that I don’t have any more useless knowledge to share. Instead, I want to share two things I enjoy immensely: cooking and design.
In this blog, I’ll be posting printable recipe cards of some of my favorite dishes, each with a different design. I’ll even take requests, discuss recipes with commenters, change recipes as needed, and so on. Hope you enjoy it!
